The bar is made with real food ingredients and contains an optimal macronutrient profile. For easy digestion, they use plant-based ingredients such as quinoa, sorghum flakes, brown rice crisps and oats. Eat when hungry. Don’t eat when not. Repeat if necessary.

Skratch Labs was founded by Dr. Allen Kim in 2012 when he was working as a sports scientist and coach for a professional cycling team. He was tired of sports nutrition products including artificial ingredients and too much sugar, so he decided to roll up his sleeves and develop an alternative. 

He started making a “secret drink mix” in his kitchen using a recipe with more sodium, less sugar, and no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors. Word of the "secret drink mix" spread fast and active people were loving how the reduced sugar and increased electrolytes made them feel.
