The idea for Five Mountains Tea originated in an East Asian monastery where Jason (founder) was living as a monk in his early twenties. It was here that authentic tea made its first impression on Jason and he felt compelled to share the experience with others. The name Five Mountains comes from the region in Southeast Asia known for the legendary 5 mountains where tea cultivation is believed to have begun. The Company was founded on philisophical notions that are prevalent in the five mountains region, purity and simplicity.
