About Clif Bar
During a one-day, 175-mile bike ride—forever to be known as The Epiphany Ride—an exhausted and hungry Gary Erickson realizes he can’t choke down another unappetizing energy bar. The idea for a better tasting bar is born! Gary names the bar after his father, Clifford, who introduced him to wilderness adventures and encouraged him to follow his passions. Clif Bar hit stores in 1992 and has since been a leader in the sports nutrition and outdoor space.
